Season 2!
It's coming soon...
Hello again!
The internet tells me I shouldn’t apologize and should instead thank you for your patience— so, thank you for your patience.
I’ll start with an acknowledgment: I know it’s been a while.
We started recording Season 2 in September 2025, and I thought, “SURELY WE CAN LAUNCH IN JANUARY.” We recorded 7 or 8 episodes in the fall. Part of Season 2 was about experimentation: What’s the best platform? Can we get a video pod up and running? What should our new production schedule look like if we’re going to air every other week and include a voiced topic intro that has to be recorded after editing? Do we need a new theme song?
Each of these questions introduced a tiny kink in the routine — and combined with fall travel (Jess) and a new job (Lisa), our recording took a pause while we got resettled. Too long of a pause, if I’m being honest.
Intellectually, I know why: there’s been a learning curve with all of these new tools, and the idea of changing the format, schedule, and platform was read by my subconscious as “those are big changes — you need to mentally prepare.” We rolled back the video component, and then I just needed to get back into a rhythm and track down all the audio files for each episode before I could get to editing.
And then, last week, I finally edited episodes 1–5.
It’s been a lot of fun to listen back, and so much of what we talked about in the fall still resonates with me. I hope it will for you, too.
Some of what we cover will need context and/or follow-up, so Season 2 will probably look less formulaic in terms of full episodes vs. unpack snacks — at least through the first half of the season. We’re also going to try to get closer to real time as the season progresses (we’ll have to — physics!). The hope is that once these episodes are out, we’ll be able to settle into something a little more routine.
To all of our readers and listeners: thank you for being here. Bringing LTUT to life has been so joyful, and I’m looking forward to sharing even more of that with the world.
To our sponsors and subscribers in particular: thank you for making this possible. Your generosity allowed us to experiment and improve the quality of this production across different formats. It means a lot financially, but even more to feel your belief in us.
We’ll be back soon.
And if you want to keep up with what we’re are up to between episodes, you can connect with us on LinkedIn here and here and Instagram. Jess also writes Riverdrops, a biweekly newsletter about leadership, alignment, and what’s stirring beneath the surface — well worth a subscribe (though I’m biased).
